A portable toilet stays usable when delivery preparation, regular servicing and everyday checks work together. A clean unit at drop-off does not remove the need to check it during hire.
What happens before delivery?
We supply toilets cleaned and stocked for the agreed hire. Our event units are kept in a separate fleet from construction toilets. Both use fresh water flushing; the water for flushing is separate from the waste holding tank.
Choose a firm, level position with a safe approach, and keep the route clear. Mud, stored materials and poor lighting can make a clean toilet difficult to use.
What should the hirer check each day?
Assign someone to check the seat, basin, floor and door handles. Replenish toilet paper and hand-washing supplies before they run out. Keep a bin available for items that must not go into the toilet.
Use suitable cleaning products as directed, and ask us before adding chemicals to the tanks. Do not mix cleaners or use a pressure washer in a way that damages fittings. Wear appropriate protection for cleaning and wash your hands afterwards.
Only toilet waste and suitable toilet paper should enter the toilet. Wipes, sanitary products, nappies, food and construction debris can block or damage it.
How does the service schedule work?
Standard construction hire includes fortnightly pump-out, cleaning and restocking. More users or heavier use can require weekly or extra visits at additional cost. Keep service access open and tell us when the site's usage changes.
Short-term event and trailer hires do not include ongoing servicing by default. For a long event, agree who performs checks and cleaning and whether paid pump-outs are needed. A sewer-connect unit needs no routine holding-tank pump-outs, but the hirer still arranges hygiene and supplies.
What if the toilet smells or is not flushing properly?
Check that supplies have not run low and the area is tidy, then contact us if the problem continues. Do not open the waste tank, add unapproved chemicals or attempt a pump-out yourself. Strong odour, leakage, rising waste or a flush fault needs attention, not a promise that the next scheduled visit will be soon enough.
Keep a faulty unit out of use if it cannot be used hygienically. Our overflow guide explains the immediate steps for that situation.
Choosing the right hire arrangement
Use construction toilet hire for ongoing site facilities and event toilet hire for short bookings. Include expected users and duration when asking about a service plan.
