How much does construction site CCTV cost to hire?
Minimum hire (12 weeks): $1,200.36 ex GST. Delivery is charged separately and depends on your site address. Hire includes the complete two-camera solar bundle, its dedicated pole and 4G connectivity. We do not offer camera-only hire.
Can I hire CCTV for a building site?
Yes. Our standalone solar bundle has two cameras on one dedicated pole. The fixed spot camera watches a priority area you choose, such as an access point or stored materials. The pan/tilt camera gives you a view across the wider site. Both record continuously, 24/7.
What is the minimum hire period?
The standalone solar bundle has a minimum hire period of 12 weeks. Your quote sets out the hire charges, delivery and payment terms. Tell us your expected project dates so we can quote the required period.
Can I hire security cameras for a short job?
You can enquire for a shorter project, but the standalone solar bundle's 12 weeks minimum hire charge still applies. Give us the site address and dates so you can assess the full cost before booking.
Do I need power on site before the cameras go up?
No. The standalone bundle uses its own solar panel and battery, with an included 4G SIM. It needs neither mains power nor site Wi-Fi. We confirm sunlight, mobile signal and a suitable pole position for your site.
How are the cameras installed?
We install the complete solar bundle on its dedicated pole and position it to suit your layout. The fixed camera can face a gate, equipment storage or another priority area; the gate is only one example. We check solar exposure and 4G signal when planning the position.
Does each hire include a way to view the footage?
Yes. You use the app to view live video and play back the solar bundle's last 10 days of recordings. Download footage you need to keep before it is deleted. You manage viewing and respond to alerts; staffed monitoring is not included.
How long is the footage kept?
The standalone solar bundle provides 10 days of playback. Download incident footage and anything else you need before the 10-day deletion window. The upcoming temporary-power-pole camera will record events only; its storage details are not yet confirmed.
Can I add a camera to my temporary power pole?
Site Watch is coming soon. It will be a fixed camera fitted to a temporary power pole hired from Poles & Holes, powered by a solar panel and battery. It will record events only, rather than continuous 24/7 video. It is not available to book yet; contact us to register interest.
Where do you deliver your security cameras?
We supply building sites across Brisbane and surrounding South East Queensland areas from our Capalaba depot. Delivery eligibility and charges depend on the exact address. Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast camera hire is by enquiry. Send your address for confirmation.
When should I book a security camera?
Enquire once you know the site address and the date you need coverage. We confirm availability, delivery access and installation timing before booking. If you also need a temporary power pole or portaloo, include them in your enquiry.
Do you offer construction camera rental or longer lease terms?
We offer construction camera hire with a minimum period of 12 weeks for the standalone solar bundle. For a longer build, give us your expected duration and we will quote the hire period. Confirm extension and off-hire arrangements in your agreement.
Is hiring a site camera cheaper than a security guard?
Compare quotes for the coverage and response your site needs. Camera hire provides recording, remote viewing and alerts you manage. A security guard can provide an on-site presence and response. Our camera hire does not include staffed monitoring or guard response.
How do I choose a good construction site CCTV system?
Start with the areas you need to see, then check the power supply, mobile signal, recording mode and playback period. Also check who responds to alerts and the full hire and delivery cost. A brand name alone does not tell you whether a setup suits your site.
Are the cameras weatherproof?
The solar bundle's cameras are designed for outdoor use and are IP66-rated. We still need a suitable installation position. Tell us about unusual site exposure or conditions when requesting a quote.
Is the footage private?
You manage viewing through the app and should limit access to the people who need it. Poles & Holes does not provide staffed monitoring. Ask us about access setup and footage handling before hire if your site has specific privacy requirements.
What should I consider about camera privacy on a building site?
Plan the camera view around your site and avoid unnecessary views into neighbouring properties or private areas. Consider worker and visitor notification, access to recordings and any requirements that apply to your project. Get advice for your circumstances before using recording or audio features; signage alone is not a complete privacy assessment.
Who is responsible for the camera equipment while on hire?
Your hire agreement sets out responsibility for equipment, loss and damage. Read those terms before booking and report damage or a fault to us promptly. Do not move the pole or alter the mounting yourself.
Can I move the camera once installed?
Contact us if the build changes and the camera position needs reviewing. The pole position affects the camera view, solar exposure and mobile signal, so do not relocate the pole or alter the mounting yourself.
Do the cameras need Wi-Fi or cabling?
The standalone solar bundle uses its included 4G SIM and its own solar panel and battery. You do not need site Wi-Fi or a mains connection. Mobile reception varies by location, so we check suitability for the exact site.
How long does the solar power system last?
Solar performance depends on sunlight, shade and site conditions. We check exposure when choosing the pole position; tell us if new structures will shade it later in the build. The 10-day playback period describes recording retention, not battery runtime.
