Hire Prices: Portaloos, Power Poles and Site Cameras in Brisbane
Delivered to a standard-zone site: a builders portaloo is $350 excluding GST for its 28 day minimum hire, an event portaloo is $242 including GST for its 4 day minimum, and a temporary site power pole is $950 excluding GST for its 12 week minimum, or $1,190 excluding GST for 3-phase. Permanent power poles start at $2,200 excluding GST. Every figure includes standard-zone delivery and is shown both ex and inc GST.
Nobody enjoys ringing around for hire prices, so here are ours — the number that actually gets the thing on site, with the hire and the delivery it is made of shown underneath rather than buried in the fine print.
Every price is shown both ways — the large figure is the basis that product is normally quoted in, with the other directly beneath it.
Standard delivery covers ~40 km of Capalaba; beyond the zone adds a per-km fee.
For hire products, minimum hire = daily rate × the minimum hire period. Extensions are billed in arrears. Sale rows show a purchase price instead.

Every line leads with the hire or purchase price, with standard-zone delivery and the all-in figure beneath it, and shows both GST bases. Beyond the standard zone (~40 km of Capalaba) delivery adds a per-km fee, which is why those figures read “from”. Hire beyond the minimum period is billed at the rate shown against each line. Final pricing is confirmed against your site address — call us and we'll lock it in.
How much is a portaloo for a week?
A one week portaloo hire sits inside the minimum hire on both fleets, so the figure you plan around is $210 excluding GST for a builders portaloo and $88 including GST for an event portaloo. Delivery is charged separately. There is no separate weekly rate, because a week is shorter than either minimum.
The two fleets are genuinely different units and we never mix them. Builders units are set up for a crew using them daily on a working site. Event units are presentation grade and go out clean for weddings, race days and functions. Our Brisbane portaloo hire cost guide breaks down what moves each quote.
How much is a mobile toilet for rent?
A mobile toilet and a portaloo are the same thing, and the rent is $210 excluding GST for a builders unit on a 28 day minimum, or $88 including GST for an event unit on a 4 day minimum. Delivery is charged separately in both cases, based on distance from our Capalaba depot.
Standard on every unit: a fresh-water flush, hand sanitiser, ventilation, a lockable door and scheduled servicing with licensed waste disposal included. See portable toilet hire for the construction fleet, or event portaloo hire for functions.
How much is a temporary power pole to hire?
A temporary site power pole is $950 excluding GST delivered to a standard-zone site — $600 for its 12 week minimum hire plus $350 standard delivery — and a 3-phase pole is $1,190. 3-phase simply means three live wires instead of one, which you need when the gear on site draws more than a standard household circuit can supply. Past 12 weeks the pole is $50 a week, invoiced monthly.
If you are running hand tools, a site shed and a kettle, single phase is fine and the cheaper option is the right one. The pole has to be installed and connected before power flows. Your electrician makes the connection, and we lodge the Energex Form 2 Electrical Work Request. See temporary power pole hire for the full detail.
How much does it cost to install a private power pole in Qld?
A private power pole is quoted per site, starting at $1,850 excluding GST for a 1 kN galvanised steel pole on its own, or $3,300 with the meter box and connection included, plus $350 delivery — so $2,200 and $3,650 delivered. The heavier 3.5 kN pole is $3,570 and $5,000 respectively. The concrete footing and the licensed electrical work are billed separately.
What moves the number is pole height and strength rating, ground conditions, access for a truck and auger, and whether an old pole has to come out first. Our guide to private power pole installation cost covers all eight cost drivers, or see permanent power poles.
What does site camera hire cost?
A camera mounted on a power pole is $1,218 excluding GST delivered for its 12 week minimum, and a standalone solar camera pole is $1,590 — about $69 and $100 a week respectively once the hire is running. The rate covers the camera, the mount, the 4G data, installation and removal.
Five things drive a camera quote: how many cameras cover the boundary, how much area each has to watch, whether the unit runs on mains or solar, how long the hire runs, and whether you want recording and phone alerts only or someone actively monitoring the feed. See security camera hire for the range.
What is not in the price
Delivery is charged separately on every line and is never folded into the headline figure. Beyond that, the things billed on top are servicing above the standard schedule, after-hours or weekend delivery, relocations mid-hire, and the licensed electrical work on any power pole, which your electrician bills directly.
We split delivery out on purpose. It genuinely varies with distance from our Capalaba depot, so averaging it into a headline rate means somebody is always paying for someone else's run. Quoting it separately means you can see what the truck costs and compare it properly. We have been doing this from the same depot since 1960, across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
