Nobody enjoys ringing around for hire prices, so here are ours, with the minimum hire shown next to every figure instead of buried in the fine print.

GST shown per product — short-term hire is inc. GST; long-term hire and poles for sale are ex GST (B2B).

Standard delivery covers ~40 km of Capalaba; beyond the zone adds a per-km fee.

Minimum hire = daily rate × the minimum hire period. Extensions are billed in arrears.

How much is a portaloo for a week?

A one week portaloo hire sits inside the minimum hire on both fleets, so the figure you plan around is $210 excluding GST for a builders portaloo and $88 including GST for an event portaloo. Delivery is charged separately. There is no separate weekly rate, because a week is shorter than either minimum.

The two fleets are genuinely different units and we never mix them. Builders units are set up for a crew using them daily on a working site. Event units are presentation grade and go out clean for weddings, race days and functions. Our Brisbane portaloo hire cost guide breaks down what moves each quote.

How much is a mobile toilet for rent?

A mobile toilet and a portaloo are the same thing, and the rent is $210 excluding GST for a builders unit on a 28 day minimum, or $88 including GST for an event unit on a 4 day minimum. Delivery is charged separately in both cases, based on distance from our Capalaba depot.

Standard on every unit: a fresh-water flush, hand sanitiser, ventilation, a lockable door and scheduled servicing with licensed waste disposal included. See portable toilet hire for the construction fleet, or event portaloo hire for functions.

How much is a temporary power pole to hire?

A temporary site power pole is $600 excluding GST for its 12 week minimum hire, and a 3-phase pole is $840. 3-phase simply means three live wires instead of one, which you need when the gear on site draws more than a standard household circuit can supply. Delivery is charged separately.

If you are running hand tools, a site shed and a kettle, single phase is fine and the cheaper option is the right one. The pole has to be installed and connected before power flows, and your electrician lodges the Energex Form 2 Electrical Work Request as part of that. See temporary power pole hire for the full detail.

How much does it cost to install a private power pole in Qld?

A private power pole is quoted per site, starting at $1,850 excluding GST for a 1 kN galvanised steel pole on its own, or $3,300 with the meter box and connection included. The heavier 3.5 kN pole is $3,570 and $5,000 respectively. Delivery is $350. The concrete footing and the licensed electrical work are billed separately.

What moves the number is pole height and strength rating, ground conditions, access for a truck and auger, and whether an old pole has to come out first. Our guide to private power pole installation cost covers all eight cost drivers, or see permanent power poles.

What does site camera hire cost?

A camera mounted on a power pole is about $69 a week excluding GST, and a standalone solar camera pole is about $100 a week. Both run on a 12 week minimum hire with delivery charged separately. The rate covers the camera, the mount, the 4G data, installation and removal.

Five things drive a camera quote: how many cameras cover the boundary, how much area each has to watch, whether the unit runs on mains or solar, how long the hire runs, and whether you want recording and phone alerts only or someone actively monitoring the feed. See security camera hire for the range.

What is not in the price

Delivery is charged separately on every line and is never folded into the headline figure. Beyond that, the things billed on top are servicing above the standard schedule, after-hours or weekend delivery, relocations mid-hire, and the licensed electrical work on any power pole, which your electrician bills directly.

We split delivery out on purpose. It genuinely varies with distance from our Capalaba depot, so averaging it into a headline rate means somebody is always paying for someone else's run. Quoting it separately means you can see what the truck costs and compare it properly. We have been doing this from the same depot since 1960, across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

Hire price FAQs

The pricing questions we get asked most often.

How much is a portaloo for a week in Brisbane?
A builders portaloo is $210 excluding GST for its 28 day minimum hire, and an event portaloo is $88 including GST for its 4 day minimum. A one week job sits inside the minimum on either fleet, so that is the figure you plan around rather than a separate weekly rate. Delivery is charged separately, because what it costs us to reach a Capalaba job and what it costs to reach the far side of Ipswich are not the same thing. The two fleets are genuinely different units and we never mix them: builders units are set up for a working site and a crew using them daily, event units are presentation grade and go out clean for weddings, race days and festivals. Number of units, servicing frequency and how close a truck can get are the three things that move a portaloo quote.
How much does it cost to install a private power pole in Qld?
A private power pole starts at $1,850 excluding GST for a 1 kN galvanised steel pole on its own, or $3,300 with the meter box and connection included, with delivery at $350. The heavier 3.5 kN pole is $3,570 and $5,000 respectively, and three phase versions are $3,755 and $5,455. Two things sit outside those figures. The concrete footing is poured by your concreter around a reinforcement cage we supply, so the concrete work is billed by them. The licensed electrician who reconnects your consumer mains and lodges the Energex Form 2 Electrical Work Request bills separately as well. Ground conditions, access for a truck and auger, and whether an old pole has to come out first are what move the number most. Send the address and a photo and we will price it properly.
How much is a temporary power pole to hire?
A temporary site power pole is $600 excluding GST for its 12 week minimum hire, and a 3-phase pole is $840. That $600 is 84 days at the daily rate rather than a separate booking fee, which is why there is no cheaper short option. 3-phase simply means three live wires instead of one, which you need when the gear on site draws more than a standard household circuit can supply, so think concrete pumps, large compressors and some cranes. If you are running hand tools, a site shed and a kettle, single phase is fine. Delivery is charged separately based on where the site sits across South East Queensland. The pole has to be installed and connected before power flows, and your electrician lodges the Energex Form 2 Electrical Work Request as part of that.
How much does construction site security camera hire cost?
A camera mounted on a power pole is about $69 a week excluding GST, and a standalone solar camera pole is about $100 a week, both on a 12 week minimum hire with delivery charged separately. Five things drive the quote: how many cameras you need, how much area each one has to cover, whether the unit runs on mains power or a self-contained solar panel and battery, how long the hire runs, and whether you want recording with phone alerts only or someone actively monitoring the feed. Solar units cost more than mains powered ones because you are hiring a panel, a battery and heavier mounting hardware along with the camera. Hire length matters too, since the delivery, install and pull-down cost is spread across the period. Send through the site address and how long the build runs and we will price the setup that suits it.
