Stayless Power Pole Hire
Self-supporting temporary power poles that don't need metal support stays. Smaller footprint, ideal for tight building sites and narrow lots.
Self-supporting power poles eliminate the need for metal stays, making them ideal for tight residential blocks where boundary clearances are limited. Traditional stayed poles require metal support stays extending 2-3 metres from the base in multiple directions, which can obstruct driveways, footpaths, and planned building works. Our stayless poles are engineered to withstand wind loads without external bracing, using a heavier pole section and deeper concrete foundation for stability. This gives them a ground footprint of approximately one square metre compared to the much larger exclusion zone needed for a stayed installation. Stayless poles are particularly popular on narrow lots, corner blocks, and sites where the pole position would conflict with vehicle access or construction activity.

How It Works
Site Assessment
Day 1We check your site dimensions and confirm a stayless pole is suitable. Tight lots and narrow frontages are ideal candidates.
Installation
Day 2-3Our crew installs the self-supporting pole with a deeper foundation. Meter box fitted and EWR lodged same day.
Energex Connects The Pole
5-10 DaysYour retailer raises the service order. Energex then attends to connect the overhead or underground service. This is the network connection — not yet live power.
Retailer Installs The Meter
+2-5 DaysYour retailer's meter provider attends a few days after Energex to fit the meter. Power only starts flowing once the meter is in.
Removal
End of hireOnce permanent power is live, we remove the pole and backfill the foundation hole.
Service Coverage
