Every builder's pole installation includes hardware delivery, professional installation by our licensed electricians, same-day EWR lodgement with Energex, 12 weeks of rental, and full removal at the end of the hire. You choose the phase — single phase for standard residential builds or three phase for larger projects — and we handle the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a stayed power pole?
A stayed pole uses diagonal metal support stays anchored to the ground to provide stability. It's the traditional and most common temporary power pole design used across Queensland. The stays prevent the pole from leaning under the weight of the overhead service line.
How much space do the stays require?
The metal support stays extend approximately 2-3 metres from the base of the pole in two or three directions. You'll need a clear area roughly 3 metres radius around the pole position, free of planned building works and vehicle access paths.
Should I choose a stayed or stayless pole?
Stayed poles are the traditional Queensland design and are the most cost-effective option. Stayless poles have a smaller footprint and don't require metal support stays, making them better for tight sites. We can recommend based on your site conditions.
Can you advise on pole placement for my build?
Yes. Send us your site plan and we can recommend the optimal position. The pole must be within 25 metres of the street network pole for overhead connections and should not obstruct the driveway or future building footprint.
I'm a volume builder — do you offer trade pricing?

What's the process for a knockdown rebuild?
For knockdown rebuilds, a temporary power pole lets you avoid a costly Energex Supply Abolishment on the existing connection. This can save you $700-$2,000. We install the temp pole before demolition, and Energex transfers the supply.
Can I place materials near the metal support stays?
No. The metal support stays must remain clear and unobstructed for safety. Building materials, skip bins, and vehicles should be kept well clear of the stays. Our installer will advise on the exact exclusion zone at installation.
Do you coordinate with my electrician?
Yes. When it's time to transfer power to the permanent connection, we coordinate with your licensed electrician to ensure a smooth handover. Our team handles the pole while your sparky handles the house wiring.
What if Energex needs traffic control for the connection?
If your street is a busy road, Energex may require traffic control for the connection visit. This can add 5-10 days to the connection timeline. Energex covers the cost of traffic control when required for the connection.
