Included Fortnightly Servicing

A fortnightly service cycle is included in the hire rate. As part of this service, a vacuum truck visits your site every two weeks to:

  • Sanitise all internal surfaces
  • Recharge the unit with fresh water and biodegradable chemical
  • Restock all consumables

For high-traffic sites, we also offer an optional weekly servicing schedule to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and user comfort at all times.

Where does the portaloo go during a renovation?
Most homeowners place the portaloo on their driveway, front yard, or side access. It needs a flat, firm surface that our crane truck can reach. We'll work with you on the best placement when we deliver.
How long can I hire a portaloo for a renovation?
As long as you need. Bathroom renovations typically take 2-6 weeks, but there's no maximum hire period. The base rate covers 4 days, and extended hire is charged at a low daily rate. We service the unit fortnightly throughout.
Do I need council approval to put a portaloo on my property?
No. For residential properties in Brisbane and SE QLD, you don't need a council permit to place a portaloo on your own driveway or yard. If it needs to go on the street or council land, you would need a permit — but that's rarely necessary for home renovations.
What about the neighbours — will it smell?
Our units are deep-cleaned before delivery and use a sealed waste tank with chemical treatment that controls odours effectively. With fortnightly servicing, there's no noticeable smell. They're designed for residential settings.
How often is the portaloo serviced?
We service the unit every two weeks as standard. Each service includes emptying the waste tank, refilling the flush water, restocking consumables, and giving the unit a thorough clean. If you need more frequent servicing, just let us know.
Can I extend the hire if the renovation takes longer than expected?
Absolutely. Renovations often run over schedule — we get it. There's no penalty for extending. Just let us know and we'll keep the servicing schedule going until you're ready for collection.
